Is 10d ANGLE? If so, what does it have to do with seaweed?

And is 49a ALTO? If so, please can someone explain why?

Thanks!

49a = Also. A L(ine) + So. So as in the note in the tonic sol-fa scale.

Foe first one - no, not Angle, the answer was ALGAE
Can't remember the other one and you haven't given the clue, making it harder for anyone to help you.

OK folks, sorry. I'm new to this so please bear with me!

10d: the clue is: Fish - seaweed's concealing tons (5) @Groan - thanks, but please can you explain why?

49a: A line to note in addition (4) I see now why it's ALSO - thanks.

Tangle is seaweed. Knock out the t, giving angle.
