Quite tough I thought - the cluing of 6D seems a bit unorthodox if my understanding of it is correct.

Thats how I see it S-lover but "beginning" seems to refer to Are and Mutter which are either side of it - bit unusual?

Definition = Pack round. End of hunt = T. Are = A (poetic abbreviation). Beginning to mutter = M. Quietly = P. That's how I saw it.

I see Chambers also gives "a" as an abbrev for are(100 square meters)
