This is an old Times prize crossword and I would be grateful for help with this one which I can't get a handle on at all, even though it is probably easy and obvious to someone else:

Trigamy? - magi (astologers) reversed in the word and it seriously breaks mariage (union) rules.

trigamy. magi backwards in try (hear, as in court case).
