I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

1. Strings buckled on to big sail (11)
2. LANDLORDS? (7,7)
3. Simple compass-bearing craft (7)
4. Crow feathers worn round neck to signify tribal leaders (5)
5. Pitch, as cloister is, of catholic priests (2, 7)

Terry, I do my best to try and get 'em on on Tuesday. I'm actually copying & pasting from my filed compositions.
Chris. don't quite follow "in italics"?
The "misleaders" in the final one would be the punctuation marks (loosely speaking).
I'm off for a wee drive now while the sun if shining. The forecast for the rest of the week looks very wet & windy.
