I'm still struggling for a few on this giant Xmas crossword:
31ac Close Friend in Gordon? There's much to be stripped away! --i-g (Could it be PALING? If so I don't get the last bit of the clue)

65ac Courtly Pursuit's back: "vice trap" -e---s.
(Could it be LEGALS? Again, if so I can't understand the second part of the clue)

65a Tennis (sin net backwards)

Close Fri(end in G)ordon.

Strip away most of the clue and you are left with

ENDING
