There seem to be a lot of posts recently that appear to assume that respondents are psychic. If you want help in solving a clue there are a few basic bits of information that will help. Firstly it is useful to know what crossword the clue is in. We do not all do the same crosswords, but it is certainly easier to know which one you are enquiring about. Please give the name and the number of the crossword if possible. Secondly please give the number and position of the clue in the grid ie 27ac etc also the number of letters in the clue and any letters you might have already. Thirdly if you just want a hint to set uyou on the right track then please say so. Sometimes just a gentle nudge in the right direction is all that is required and it helps if you say that that is all you want. Some people however may wish for the answer, again it helps if you are specific. Fourthly enjoy your crosswords!
