Any ideas for 4d (6) 'Harder nearer rope'. I've got d-e-e-.

Also for 15a (6) 'Air, rail, cycling' I've put strain but for no real reason!

6d (5) 'Once sharper tongue' I've got Greek, but again, not too sure why.

Any ideas?

I am struggling with this one, also 18ac. I think strain is correct because it is an air [tune] and it is trains cycling [moving]

For 18a I've got Robert - apparently it's a type of herb and connected to cranesbill - no, really!

Apparently a"Greek" was an old name for someone involved in sharp practise.

Can only think of "deeper" for 4D ; don't know why ?
