Sadly I'd got the answer for 38 as the answer for 43 John Brown's shoes (8) so I've got to come up with that.

25 - Remnant - newspaper cuttings are kept in this sort of book, clout - see answer to 34

No idea on 29 or 37 which are being sought elsewhere.

Got it just after I posted thanks Freddo.
My problem was there are too many John Browns - I could think of the one Billy Connolly played, the one whose body lies amouldering in the grave and the one who built ships on the Clyde!!
