I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

1. Ghastly when taking the A51 from Wales (6)
2. Leaving parts of car the worse for wear, i.e., smooth tires (7)
3. Mary Jane's attached to shy and foolish person (7)
4. Renewed confidence from taking narcotics? (1,4,2,3,3)
5. An informal greeting when picking up food (4)

Hello Jolan,
Just got in and going out again (for the rest of the week).

Hi Nicola! Yep. CIAO = informal greeting. Pronunciation in Chambers =(Eng) chow. And, picking up (homophone indicator) chow = food

Well solved Terry! This one proved very difficult to the few people who solve my crossies. Not to you, though! Have a good time whilst 'out'. Only 2 & 3 to go.
