"Few little ---- popping away with cameras" (John Osborne, West of Suez(4)N?P?. Substituting 'i' and 's' gives an obvious answer, which is not only impolite, but one I can't confirm. Help please.

It probably is NIPS, being a contraction of Nipponese. Japanese tourists are known to be small and enjoy taking lots of photographs

I agree it's probably NIPS but have not found the actual quote. I'm struggling with 1d...which Dickens are we looking for? I have RICHARD -P-I---.Grateful for any help.
